I am so excited to finally launch Wonderwood’s Home Ed and Unschooling group.
I have wanted to offer the site to children who are not in school for a long time and I’m so pleased that every other Friday (in term time) from 1-3pm our lovely site at the Rural Living Museum will be open for child led exploring, creating and play.
These sessions are for children 5-12 years old and are drop off. The group will be small and hosted by myself (level 3 forest school leader) and one other assistant. I am outdoor first aid trained, have a DBS and we are Ofsted registered. My assistant will also be experienced and DBS checked.
So what can the children do at these sessions?
What ever they chose…
Perhaps they fancy a long term project such as making a bow and arrow or wooden mallet. Maybe they will sit in the hammock and weave.
The mud kitchen and water area are ready for all types of play and we have a cargo net and slackline for some great active games.
Maybe the explorers will go on a bug hunt or try and ID the trees, mushrooms or leaves around the site?
Our first session will be on the 10th September. For now session will be pay as you go rather than in a group.
